|What experience do I need?||You will need experience in writing and performing or recording and you will be passionate about music. You want to extend your experience in songwriting and arranging as well as developing your knowledge of studio recording techniques. You may wish to write individually or with other students on the course. You will have unlimited access to the Beauville Arts Recording Studio as well as an experienced sound engineer to help you record and edit your material. Many students who do this course go on to study music and sound engineering at University.|
|Accommodation||Dormitory camping in Beauville at Les-2- Lacs campsite.Arrive on Sunday 12 August by 15.00 at Les-2- Lacs campsite. You can leave after the showcase on Friday, or on the Saturday by 12 noon.|

Many of our Songwriting and Studio Recording students also attend Rock Academy the week before.
What does it involve?
The aim of the course is to give you a chance to work on your personal writing skills and develop an individual style as a songwriter and composer. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students as well as perform and record your music. You will learn how to engineer a recording session and mix and produce great recordings. You will get top advice on music courses and opportunities in the music business.

- Working in the Music Industry …and much more
Please visit the recording studio and see the great equipment you will get to use. With access to our qualified and experienced sound engineer, you will get to grips with all the gear in no time, producing professional quality recordings that will set you own your way!
On the final night there will be an informal showcase of new music. Friends and family are welcome to attend. All recordings made during the week as well as all the data files will be available for you to take away.
The camp is a truly international experience and participants come from many different countries. During the week you will also get the chance to socialise and share workshops with dancers on the Hip Hop and Commercial Dance course.
Who will be running the course?
Jonathan Mallalieu is the course director. Jonathan has been Director of Music in several UK and international schools and has extensive experience as a Rock, Pop and Jazz performer. As a freelance composer and songwriter, Jonathan has released several dance records and written numerous TV scores. He is also Artistic Director of Beauville Arts. Alongside Jonathan will be a specialist team including running workshops and helping you in the studio and with your writing.
