Jonathan Mallalieu MA(Oxon), PGCE
Jonathan studied music at Oxford University and worked as a freelance musician before postgraduate studies at London University and St Andrew’s University. Jonathan has had a distinguished career in the world of Performing Arts and has been Director of Music in several UK and international schools.
He has extensive experience as a theatrical director, having produced over seventy full-scale musical shows including Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Oliver, The Insect Play, Grease, West Side Story and many more!
Jonathan has composed TV theme tunes, cinema commercials and music for documentaries, video and short film, in the UK, Europe and the United States. He has also written many songs, piano pieces, orchestral works, educational music and a musical.
He is now a freelance composer, musician and producer as well as Artistic Director of Beauville Arts.
Claire Mallalieu BSc(Hons), MRICS
Claire has had a successful career as a surveyor and planning consultant spanning over 15 years. She has combined this with orchestral playing and other musical activities.
Claire teaches piano and violin and is heavily involved in the local community She was elected a local councillor in March 2008.
Claire is Administrative Director of Beauville Arts and one of her areas of responsibility is liaison with our regulatory body, the Direction Départementale de la Jeunesse et des Sports.

Jonathan and Claire work with a team of freelance performing arts professionals – experienced and fully qualified specialists – to deliver Beauville Arts’ summer camps and holiday courses. Learn more about our teaching staff.
BAFA qualified activity coordinators are an additional part of this team and they organise leisure activities and entertainment for students, as well as providing pastoral care. BAFA is a French training programme that covers organising activities and safeguarding the safety, security and well-being of young people.
