Following a sold out ‘première’ in Hong Kong 2013, Beauville Arts will be travelling to Hong Kong and Macau to produce three musical theatre shows in August 2014!
We hope that, as last year, students from Europe will be able to join us on this rewarding adventure . Young people with experience working in the ‘Beauville Arts’ tradition are particularly welcome to join us as ambassadors to perform alongside Chinese and other international students.

English Learning Through Performing Arts
This is a unique summer camp, for students from Hong Kong and China, in South West France. This tour is for students interested in Music, Theatre and Dance. You will work intensively with students from all around Europe on a Musical Theatre performance. The performance and all rehearsals are in English.
Stage a full-scale musical in a week!
A challenging and fun week with intensive workshops in music, drama, dance and set design, culminating in the performance of ‘Matilda, The Musical’.

What does it involve?
You will be involved in a professional-quality musical theatre production. Uniquely, you will get a chance to develop skills in all aspects of musical theatre, with intensive workshops in music, drama, dance and set-design. The week culminates in a public performance on Friday evening at the Salle des Fêtes in Beauville. You will encourage and inspire one another, and work as a team in a positive yet challenging environment. There will also be sporting and leisure activities organised for you by our activity coordinators. The summer camp is a truly international experience and we have hosted participants from many different countries.
Who will be running the course?
Jonathan Mallalieu is the course director. Jonathan has been Director of Music in several UK and international schools and has extensive experience as a Theatrical Director. He has also written several musicals and now enjoys a career as a freelance composer and musician and a Director of Beauville Arts. You can find out more about him here. Experienced and qualified teachers in Dance/Drama and Art/Set Design work alongside Jonathan. Other staff include a full time administrator/first aider and BAFA-qualified activity coordinators. BAFA is a French training programme that covers organising activities and safeguarding the safety, security and well-being of young people. The staff to student ratio is approximately 1:6
